Friend or Foe... You Can Feel It In The Air

One thing you can count on in life is Change. Seasons change, people change, and feelings change. With seasons, you can always feel it in the air; you get that hint of warmness or crispness depending on fall/spring. Hell the wind even sounds different if you listen closely enough. Now if you can pay attention to the little things like that you should be good at recognizing warmness/crispness in your life, because you can feel it in the air with people too. You should never be so full of yourself that you can never tell what is changing around you. Especially in this cyber world we live in, where people can put up false fronts on the web and are totally different in real life. (See: Internet thugs/ballas/models/prophets). Read between the lines and people will let you know exactly who they are, and when they do, PLEASE believe them. Do me a favor someone find the definition of “friend” (don’t worry I’ll wait….) Friend –noun- “A person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard”. This one goes out to all the people on social networks who just accept any and everyone as friends all wily nilly. You don’t know them and they don’t know you, if they can’t provide you a service or vice versa what’s the point? Know the difference between “friends” and “associates” you don’t tell your “associates” your life story because they don’t need to know. Energy, whether good or bad, is transferred never displaced, so that vibe people put through on their statuses goes somewhere right? Wonder why you feel funny after hearing or seeing bad news, yep that negative energy just passed on to you. You know the saying watch what you eat, watch what you see and read too. Cut negativity out of your lives, you don’t need it. Word to the wise if you’re gonna cut people out just do it, no need to make an announcement it looks tacky, they’ll realize it soon enough. Side Note: Remember when the ROC was on top? See what I mean, friends and feelings change…

Something going on, I feel funny can't tell me nothing different

My nose twitching

Intuition setting in like STI visio

I still close my eyes, I still see visions

Still hear that voice in the back of my mind

so what I do? I still take heed, I still listen

I still paint that perfect picture,

I still shine bright like a prism

My words still skipping - through air

I know you can't, don't, won't get it

You niggas chose to ride that ship, sunk with it

I'm still afloat, I ain't the captain of the yacht but I'm on a boat

I ain't acting what I'm not

Knowing that I don't, you niggas acting like you will but I know you won't, you won't

I read between the lines of your eyes to your brows

your handshake ain't matching your smile

I'll holla, you niggas foul

History vs Heritage... It Starts With Us

I went a whole month without dedicating a single video or blog to Black History Month and here's why. First its dealing with the remembrance of history like we as a race of people we aren’t making strides everyday now. Take a look around despite what the media shows, great things are happening in out community.  Hell I have friends that are making major moves as we speak. Though given sites such as WorldStar and MTO I might be prone to believe that nothing is going on but fights in Denny's and f*cked up weaves… Luckily I and my circle know better, so we do better. How about this, what if we thought of it as Black Heritage, meaning something inherited from birth, a birth right to do extraordinary things on a daily basis? Think it could work? Maybe? #kanyeshrug. Maybe if we taught our kids that they’re born to due extraordinary ish instead of “The Dougie” we might start heading in the right direction. Then again maybe if we remixed some of Martin Luther King’s speeches and digitally imposed a facial tattoo on him, the kids might listen again, what you think? Do you think we could get back to the dreams? Hell even Malcolm said by any means necessary but I don’t think he meaning get the ‘Maro with 24’s by any means… could’ve sworn he was talking about liberation, freedom, and peace of mind for the Fam. We can do it; I know we can do better… It has gotta start at home with the Family though. We have to start respecting each other and life, because it’s all we got. That’s enough of my rant though, Happy Black Heritage Month homies. Side Note: When is Common gonna come with another Album???

Yo we gotta start respectin life more y'all
You look at your brother man you gotta see yourself
Gotta see the God within him
Brothers gettin changed real quick over nothin
We losin too many of ours
Gotta recreate y'all
Yo check it

If I Ruled the World...

If I ruled the world… I’d stop all this snow from falling… no really I would, what purpose does it serve? Maybe it looks beautiful for a moment in the morning or under the amber street lights when it’s fresh. That’s only for like 30min tops though. Tops.
You already know though it’s the weekend, time to get into something. Don’t let anything stress you out, be carefree and be the change you want. Shout out to all the homies that are celebrating “Born Days” this weekend. Do it big or don’t do it all. This one goes out to you all, live everyday like you “Rule the World”. You should be living that way everyday anyway.

If I ruled the world
Imagine that
I'd free all my sons, I love em love em baby
Black diamonds and pearls
Could it be, if you could
be mine, we'd both shine
If I ruled the world
Still living for today, in
these last days and times

And then we'll walk right up to the sun
Hand in hand
We'll walk right up to the sun
We won't land
We'll walk right up to the sun
Hand in hand
We'll walk right up to the sun
We won't land

Doesnt know your name...I wonder why

What if the world worked like this Alicia Keys video? Woman sees a guy she likes, take initiative, steps to him, and lets him know how she feels. Now I’m not saying that women should switch roles with the men and start courting us, I’m just saying let us know that you’re interested and we’ll take it from there. I’ve had countless conversations with women about how they’re interested in some guy they see around town, and how he won’t make a move. My question to them is always the same, “How does he know you’re interested, have you made a move?” Their answers are always the same, “No, why should I”? Here’s why you should let them know, and I’m speaking from a male’s point of view in a city full of women. We may get blinded by what we see on the outside of a woman that by the time we find out the reality of her we’ve wasted the time we could have spent finding the Bonnie to our Clyde. This goes for the guys too; let them know how you feel. Lesson for today folks, just let us know what you’re feeling, good or bad, and let’s take the guessing game out of it. So shout out to all the women that are go-getters, I’m not just talking about relationships either. I’m speaking about the ones about their money, goals, and families. Just please, don’t be a home wrecker. Side Note: How many of us have that 1st phone call to someone and your reception goes bad on your cell making you sound lame… lol

Look man, I mean I don't wanna waste your time but
I know girls don't usually do this,
But I was wondering if maybe we could get together
Outside the restaurant one day
Cause I do look a lot different outside my work clothes
I mean we could just go across the street to the park right here
Wait, hold up, my cell phone's breakin up, hold up
Can you hear me now? Yeah
So, what day did you say?
Oh yeah, Thursday's perfect, man:."
